How to use a Tesla referral link
The most important rule: the referral link must be used before you place the order. Tesla cannot attach a referral to an order that was already submitted.
Step 1 - Use the device you will order from
Referral attribution happens through your browser session and Tesla account. Open the link on the same phone, tablet, or computer you will actually place the order from. If you usually order from a laptop, do not just click the link on your phone.
Step 2 - Sign in to your Tesla account in the same session
Sign in (or create your account) after clicking the link, in the same browser window. Avoid switching browsers or using a private window that will drop cookies before you finish.
Step 3 - Configure and place the order
Pick your model, trim, color, and options as normal. Any current referral benefit typically attaches to your Tesla account automatically at checkout - there is no separate code to type in.
Step 4 - Confirm the benefit appears
Before you finalize payment, look at the checkout summary and your Tesla account for a referral or reward line. If nothing is showing, see the troubleshooting guide on the FAQ page before you submit the order.
